DevOps Top Meetups: Tecknuovo’s DevOps Community Meetup & Event Schedule January 2019
Happy New Year from the Tecknuovo team! As promised, we are publishing a curated list of DevOps and Cloud related Meetups in London every month. Follow us on @Tecknuovo or LinkedIn and be the first to know about upcoming Meetups.
We’re back after a whirlwind holiday season. According to the “Rules of Modern Living”, now is the time to set “New-Year New-Me goals”. We will opt in for attending at least two Meetups a month. What about you?
Here are three reasons why attending more meetups will help you grow in 2019:
It will help you become a part of the awesome DevOps community in London, find a mentor and make new friends.
It’s a cheap way to learn new skills and widen your area of expertise.
It will help you stay up to date with the ever-changing technology landscape.
On top of that, a January filled with exciting post-work Meetups will help you power through the upcoming Blue Monday (21st January). Meetup’s “Free Food Promise” will also save you some money! So join us this month and meet with other like-minded people passionate about tech. Have fun, share knowledge and make new friends!
We are going to be there, so don’t be shy, come find us and say hello! (>’-‘)>
Cheryl Hung is back in London to host the first Cloud Native Meetup of the year. This month’s focus is on K8s. We will hear from HashiCorp’s developer advocate – Nic Jackson, and Samir Bennacer from Elastic. If you’re interested in learning more about what is happening in the Cloud Native ecosystem, this event is your cup of tea!
If your interest lies in architecting, designing, deploying and maintaining microservice based software architectures then this Meetup is right up your alley. The agenda is not announced yet, but watch this space for more information.
This Meetup will focus on how do you get started with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. You will have a chance to learn all about getting started with automating Azure infrastructure deployment using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines from Mark Gossa – Lead DevOps Engineer at Vanquis Bank. P.S. Make sure to register in advance. The organisers will close Meetup registration 2 days before the event due to building security.
This one you cannot miss. London DevOps always brings great speakers and is an awesome first step to become an active participant in the DevOps Community in London. Every month, London DevOps Group members meet to discuss anything and everything about DevOps such as Automation, Orchestration, Containers, Virtualisation, Service Discovery, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Register early to avoid the waitlist!
This workshop-style Meetup is a re-run of the Kubernetes 101 workshop from 2018. The content will be identical. If you missed it, but are looking for some hands-on learning experience on container orchestration and managing a container cluster with Kubernetes, make sure to register early.
SEAM is the monthly Study of Enterprise Agility Meetup. This Meetup is focussed more on the enterprise side of technology, so if you’re interested in what organisations are attempting to achieve and how they go about doing it, this Meetup is perfect for you. This month, SEAM will be joined by the Head of NHS Digital Delivery Centre, Andrew Meyer, who’ll be explaining how they continue to save the NHS tens of millions of pounds.
Run by ECS Digital, DevOps Playground offers a unique opportunity to gain some hands-on learning experience on different DevOps tech. Each time they touch on different topics and dedicate the evening to help you leave with a new skill to add to your DevOps toolbox! If you’re interested, make sure to bring your laptop and check prior knowledge requirements.
Docker London, run by our own Dominique Top (@DevOpsDom) is probably the biggest Docker Community in the world as she found out at the Docker Community Leader Summit at DockerConEU in Barcelona. Did you see our highlights video?
Closing off the January Blues with an amazing line-up of speakers including:
Phil Estes (Distinguished engineer for IBM Cloud and Docker Captain)
Scott Perham (Platform Architect at Polystream)
Igor Karpovich (Head of Software Development at Currency Solutions)
P.S. Be advised – Please use your Docker ID to rsvp on http://tiny.cc/dockerjanuary – Due to building security we need your full name to sign you in!
