The clocks have gone back and it’s time to start carving pumpkins, which can only mean it’s time to plan for upcoming November tech events! Below the Tecknuovo team has listed some of the November tech events that they’re most excited for. Topics range from “non-traditional” tech journeys, the latest Java update, different architecture styles to suit you, and more! Remember you can check out the Google calendar for a more in depth look at the month ahead.
Before we get onto November tech events, we have a rather exciting update to share from October. You may have seen that our inclusive community initiative underwent a makeover! We’ve been thrilled to welcome people to Teck Camp, the inclusive community that aims to ensure that the tech community is open for all, regardless of where they are on their tech journey. On Thursday 22nd October, we also had our monthly Ask Me Anything event. For October, we were joined by Senior Developer Evangelist at GitLab and Cloud Native Computing Foundation Board Member, Brendan O’Leary. Brendan let us pick his brains over this month’s GitLab update, the future of DevOps and his types on how to learn to learn. When already used to deploying traditional, monolithic, applications, deployments utilising microservices on the cloud always constitute a big challenge. Even more so when you are not familiar with what you need to use for which component of the monolithic application, and how you can ensure that current in-place measures for security and compliance are met. Even more so if the decision is to move the application completely to be based on a serverless deployment. Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI are designed to work together so everyone across the business can quickly become a maker. In this session, you’ll be walked through the process of creating the complete solution. This till be done by starting with a quick overview of the platform, then will move onto building a data source, a Power App to collect the data, Power Automate to build the business process and finally using Power BI to analyse the data.
