We are excited to announce our virtual panel event with guest panellists Nathan Nalla – Founder & Director of Be The Riot, Stefania Chaplin – EMEA Solution Architect at Secure Code Warrior and Freddie Field – Head of Operations at Tecknuovo, facilitated by Maya Sargent – Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Tecknuovo.

During the event, the panel of experts will be sharing their unique perspectives, discussing what rainbow washing and pride means to them, some of the wider societal challenges facing the LGBTQ+ communities and how companies can begin to support, address and ally themselves in the workplace. A Q&A will follow.

Maya Sargent – Interim Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion @ Tecknuovo

Maya is Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Tecknuovo. She has 10 years of experience in the Recruitment and DEI space working both strategically and operationally. Maya has worked with organisations to create a positive impact on both them and their employees, through concentrating on intersectionality, working to create a workplace culture of inclusion and belonging, and facilitating equitable and sustainable changes.

 

Nathan Nalla – Founder & Director @ Be The Riot

Nathan is the Founder and Director of Be The Riot, supporting companies to create an inclusive working culture through facilitated learning workshops, mentoring and consultancy services. He’s also a Trustee for BlackOut UK, a charity dedicated to Black men who identify as gay, bi or trans. Nathan began his journey in diversity and inclusion when working for a pioneering national charity that focused on social integration. He saw first-hand the benefits of having people from all different backgrounds working together, breaking down barriers and achieving great things for society.

Nathan’s experience includes delivering community LGBTQ+ equality programmes, working for Europe’s largest LGBTQ+ rights organisation supporting companies to develop LGBTQ+ inclusive policies and practices. Leading in-house as a D&I Manager for one of the world’s leading private members’ brands, driving race equity and mental wellbeing strategy as well as other aspects of diversity, taking an intersectional approach to workplace inclusion.

As a man who is racialised as Black and identifies as gay, Nathan uses his personal lived experiences to shape his work.

 

Stefania Chaplin – EMEA Solution Architect @ Secure Code Warrior

Stefania Chaplin is EMEA’s Solution Architect at Secure Code Warrior. Her experience within Cybersecurity, DevSecOps and OSS governance mean she’s helped countless organisations understand and implement security throughout their SDLC. As a Python developer at heart, Stefania is always optimising and improving efficiency wherever she goes by scripting and automating processes and creating integrations. Stefania is passionate about DevSecOps and cybersecurity, having spoken at many conferences including; RSA Conference, ADDO, JavaZone, JFokus, Mauritius Virtual Developers Conference, Women of Silicon Roundabout, Women in DevOps, DZone and on the Secure Code Warrior Brighttalk. She is also an active member of OWASP DevSlop, hosting their technical shows.

 

Freddie Field – Head of Operations @ Tecknuovo

Freddie is the Head of Operations at Tecknuovo and has over seven years’ experience within consulting and headhunting. At the early stages of his career, Freddie started within the Executive Search space, focussing on larger corporates and high-growth PE-backed businesses. Following this, he moved into a People Strategy consulting role which focussed on various early-stage investment VC portfolios. Freddie is also a member of various LGBTQ+ groups outside of the professional realm, ranging from a variety of sports clubs, culture groups and charitable organisations.
