Reliance to resilience: Building technical in-house capability for the NHS
We explore how NHS Trusts could gain independence from suppliers, save taxpayers' money, and enhance service delivery by building in-house technical capabilities.
Read moreSteven Killick has joined challenger technology delivery partner Tecknuovo as UCD and Healthcare Practice Lead. With Steve’s extensive experience in the NHS and the healthcare sector, this marks a new focus for Tecknuovo to expand its expertise within this NHS, with the ultimate goal of helping NHS Trusts become technically self-sufficient through its Zero Dependency Framework.
Steve has championed user-centred design (UCD) at healthcare organisations over the past 14 years, helping the NHS as well as international hospitals in the USA and Middle East. He’s worked with end users across these organisations to help them understand their needs and challenges, and to build fit-for-purpose solutions that delight users. More recently, Steve led a team of 62 at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, delivering ‘people before technology’ solutions for its users.
Steve will bring this experience to Tecknuovo to help NHS organisations better serve patients and frontline staff through the right technology — for example with Electronic Patient Record optimisation, clinical administration applications, and products to improve patient engagement.
Together with Tecknuovo’s Zero Dependency Framework, which helps customers eliminate dependency on technology suppliers, Steve will use his expertise to empower NHS organisations to serve their users more efficiently whilst setting them up for a dependency-free tomorrow.
Steve comments about his appointment:
“Tecknuovo has already is already helping central government departments build up their in-house technical capability to better serve taxpayers. I’m looking forward to working with the team to emulate that success for the NHS, its frontline staff and its patients.”
